Having endured back problems for many years I was hoping that if nothing else the classes would help strengthen my core and prevent my back problems from recurring so frequently. It proved to be a great decision. Sholina created the course and was our instructor throughout the entire session.
Each class was challenging and different than the one before so it kept everyone’s interest at a very high level. Our classes combined breathing techniques with various Yoga poses. I have been fortunate to experience many great classes throughout my years of fitness training and this Yoga class ranks up with the very best. There are several factors that made this such a great class and they all point back to our instructor. Sholina has a unique ability to communicate, motivate, instruct, challenge and train all of the members in her class regardless of their individual abilities.
The classes were like a one on one training session as Sholina demonstrated what we were going to do, explained why we were doing it and made sure we did it right to achieve the desired results. The best testimonial that I can offer to the abilities and effectiveness of the instructor is that the classes were always full.
Improved body awareness. The Yoga for Men sessions have included stretching exercises that have improved my flexibility, especially in my legs and knees. I really like the small class size and the pace that allows for individual feedback about technique. The instructor is outstanding, and she seems well tuned-in to how far we can push for that extra stretch or hold. Improved body awareness has helped me pinpoint areas I most need to improve, like core strength and my triceps. I feel really good about my progress in just 8 weeks.
Sholina guides you patiently and spends time individually (as needed) with the class. She remains focused and humble. Although new to Yoga, from the very first class, I loved Yoga. Sholina is a passionate and patient teacher especially with Men’s Yoga where most of the class in new and learning Yoga under her direction.
At the end of the class, you feel light, refreshed and rejuvenated.

From the initial warm up to the final cool down I feel like I’m getting a great workout in Sholina’s strength and core class.As someone who finds it more difficult to push myself as hard as I can when I work out alone, I find her classes give me the challenge I need all the while still being very fun and enjoyable. All in all I always walk away from the class feeling like I had a great time and got a great workout!
I still play Old Timers Soccer twice a week, and immediately found that the Yoga exercises had increased my flexibility and decreased the number of aches and pains that I usually experienced after each game. I have been able to add another Soccer game each week, my long term sore back is almost a thing of the past, and I find that I am much more active and flexible on a daily basis. With that in mind, I arranged for some individual lessons with Sholina, and have found these to be extremely beneficial. Sholina is an excellent teacher, patient, understanding and always willing to answer any query about the exercises.
My flexibility doubled, my visits to the physiotherapist stopped. I met Sholina about 8 years ago when I was suffering through a heavy regiment of 3 or 4 hours of squash a week with little care for stretching, mindfulness or general body awareness. After several visits to the local physiotherapist for neck, back, or arm pains I approached Sholina, who suggested I join in a few yoga classes. I play hockey and squash, how was I supposed to transition into yoga and would I fit in? Well it was a perfect fit. Sholina has truly mastered the art of sensing the energy in a room, a room full of unique ability and temperament. A room full of diversity in ages, ability and comfort is an average class for her. She embraces the challenge and makes the experience rich and unique for everyone.
I continued in her class for about 7 years wherein my flexibility doubled, my visits to the physiotherapist stopped, my respect for yoga outweighed any previous misconceptions. Often leaving class and heading to work I would tell Sholina that the class was “such an awesome start to my day”. I hope to continue learning from her.
Pelvic Floor Dysfunction - Core Corrections
I came to Sholina looking to gain some core strength without worsening a mild pelvic prolapse. I'm so happy I did! Sholina is patient, encouraging and genuine. The breathing exercises and stability-focused core work she has taught me over the past couple of months have definitely helped tone my core in a functional way; my pants are looser; and the prolapse flare ups I have had in the past have almost disappeared. I highly recommend low pressure fitness for anyone with pelvic floor issues and for women in general.
I have been walking on air since the last class. I am not sure what I released or what you released for me, but I feel wonderful and so much lighter! That class was truly magical.
Your classes and what you offer is sooo much more than the mechanics of how to and what meditation is but in a way really therapy and life coaching from a spiritual perspective. You are really and truly fantastic! The impact of your classes have had in my life in such a short time is incredible. Life will continue to have its peaks and valleys and classes like yours can provide such a service to people in the healing process as well as the working through process... No one wanted to leave the safe space you created or leave you. This is your spirit drawing others in and giving them a taste of what they can be in a very real, loving way which accounts for the fact that we are human beings with human frailties, challenges and are not perfect. But, we can have perfection or glimpses of it in terms of the spirit through spiritual experiences and we can tap into this when we want and need it.

I knew it would be an evening like no other I had known. A group of women, gathered around a single flame, drawn together with the common goal of participating in a healing circle. It seemed so foreign and yet a bond had already started to form between us.
I left knowing that I had participated in something incredible; that the experience could only be fully appreciated by one who was there and that mere words could not even begin to convey the essence of the healing power that I had felt. That night I slept, knowing that we, as a group, had participated in something truly good.
